What insurances do we accept?

  • Humana PPO
  • United Healthcare PPO
  • Boon Chapman

Why must you provide a copy of your medical insurance if you have vision insurance?

When you visit our office for a routine eye examination and the doctor finds a medical diagnosis as well as a refractive diagnosis, your routine exam automatically turns into a medical exam. In this case, our office will bill your medical insurance to cover the medical portion of your eye exam, and then coordinate benefits with your vision insurance for the refractive portion. The good news is you still only pay your vision insurance copay!

How often do you need to have an eye health examination?

Dr. Aaker recommends an eye health examination once every year to make sure your eyes remain healthy and your vision has not changed.

Will dilation affect your vision?

The dilation drops that our doctor uses are very mild and rarely affect a patient's vision. There may be a slight light sensitivity and should only last a few hours.

What if you can't pick up your contact lenses after they come in?

Don't worry! When we order your contact lenses , there is always the option of having them mailed to you at your home or business. If you order a year's supply of contacts, then you can get them mailed at no extra cost.

Do we have a large selection of eyewear to view?

Definitely! Our office inventories over 800 different eyeglass frames from over 25 different designers. Plus, if you find a frame at a different office and we have an account with that particular designer, then we can order that frame for you.

How long does it take for your eyeglasses to arrive?

Our office has its own eyeglass lab so if we have your prescription lenses in inventory, then we can have them done for you that day while you wait. Our office offers a variety of high quality lenses and coatings for your eyeglasses. So in the event that we need to order your prescription lenses, according to what tints and coatings you choose for them, it can take anywhere from 1-10 business days. Please keep in mind that when your new eyeglasses or sunglasses arrive, our opticians put them through an extensive quality inspection to make sure that you get the best possible results that you deserve.

How long does it take to receive your new contact lenses?

Our contact lens department actually carries some contact lenses in inventory, so we can get them to you the day you visit. If we do have to order your contacts, it only takes a few days to receive them. We can have them directly shipped to you or you can pick them up from our office.

How far in advance do you need to schedule your appointment?

Dr Aaker is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at The Eyeglass Shop. We advise that you call at least one day in advance for an appointment. We do accept walk ins.
